Handcrafted with Heart, Inspired by Nature.
Hello
I’m Martina.
I’ve loved crafting for as long as I can remember. Over the years I’ve tried lots of different crafts, including knitting, crochet, macramé and embroidery. These days, crochet is my favourite. I love sitting down in the evening with a hook and yarn, working on a baby blanket or a cosy pair of ear warmers. I find it relaxing, mindful and a great way to switch off.
I also run crochet workshops, teaching the basics and helping people get started. It’s always lovely to see someone gain confidence and realise they can create something beautiful themselves.
I retired from the corporate world in 2021, and in 2023 I set up Forget Me Knot Crafts to focus fully on the creative work I love. Retirement also gave me more time in the garden, something I’d always enjoyed but never had enough time for. My love of flowers started with my dad. I have fond memories of helping him sow seeds when I was young.
Over the last few years, I’ve started drying and pressing flowers to preserve their natural beauty. I dry some flowers in silica sand to keep their shape and colour, which I then turn into 3D flower frames. I also use a traditional flower press and create cards, bookmarks and framed pieces from pressed blooms.
I run workshops for this too, where I show people how to dry flowers and guide them in making their own floral creations.
Whether it’s yarn or flowers, I simply enjoy making things by hand, and helping others discover that they can too.
